Our nursery environment and facilities enable your child to explore, develop and learn. Our Baby, Toddler and Preschool spaces are specially designed and equipped especially with them in mind. You’ll see many familiar homely items such as bookcases, tables, chairs, and sofas just much smaller than you are used to!

We consider the spaces around your child to be like their third teacher, joining you as parents and us as educators in guiding them through their learning. And you’ll notice how we use our garden area as an outdoor classroom too, full of features to support their play and learning. Our Baby, Toddler and Preschool rooms are perfect for the ages of children that spend their time in them.

We keep many aspects of our nursery environments consistent as we know your child will benefit greatly from this. With core resources, enriching toys, games and creative materials, that are always at hand for your child to play with. However, it is not unusual for parts of our nurseries to become unique adventure places where your child’s imagination can run free!

Babies Environment

Our baby room is very homely and equipped with sensory and natural materials for babies to explore their ever growing senses. There are lots of fun activities for babies to do including a ‘rainbow crawl’ and pull up bar from Community Playthings. We make sure babies have a home from home feeling by displaying photos of their loved ones. The ratios are 1:3 and your child’s key person will take care of all your their personal needs. Babies usually nap after lunch but we are flexible for children to follow their routine at home. We believe strong parent partnership enhances the experience for all involved. We have a dedicated space in our garden with soft artificial grass for the babies to crawl and explore to their hearts content.

Tweenies Environment

Our Tweenies room is located on the first floor. This room is bright, large, inviting and spacious. In the Tweenies room we help children to become confident in walking with a pull up bar and a ‘climb and crawl’ nursery gym from Community Playthings. Activities in our Tweenies room focus on the primary areas of the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ framework with significant attention on your baby’s speech development and emotional development through forming relationships, songs, games and stories.

Toddlers Environment

Our Toddler Room is located on the ground floor of our building, the children have direct access to our beautiful garden and their own brightly coloured toilets which gives them the opportunity to toilet train with ease. By this age your child will be eager to engage with the surrounding world, so it is important that there is plenty of opportunity for them to do so. There is a water play area, role-play area, creative/arts area and plenty of table top space for group activities. As well as a Maths and Writing area, there is also a cosy book corner for children to get warm and comfortable, sit and read, or rest and sleep.

Preschool Environment

Our Preschool room is situated on the ground floor with direct access to our beautiful garden. The rooms are equipped with an outstanding level of furniture, toys and resources all focused on the age and needs of the children, and these have been chosen to meet the primary area’s of the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ framework and encourage learning through play. The Pre-School room has a sensory pod and an area dedicated to technology. As this is the time when the majority of children start ‘toilet training’, the pre-schoolers have access to brightly decorated children’s toilets, encouraging independence. Their day is structured around their changing interests. We want to ensure children are becoming independent individuals and making sure they are ready for their transition to school.

Garden Environment

State of the art, interactive and fun are just some of the words to describe our garden. It is situated around the whole building and we have a separate area dedicated just for the babies.

We have a mud kitchen, water area, sand area, physical area, cosy area and provide opportunities to write and a plant. Through our observations of children learning through play, we are able to introduce adult led activities that follow the interest of individual children, linking them to the seven areas of learning:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the world
  • Expressive arts and design

The children have open access to the garden every day (free flow) and complete many of their daily activities outside. The garden features super absorbent safety surfacing for all those trips and falls.

Other Information

The security and safety of the children is paramount to us. We have CCTV throughout the building. Each room has a security lock to enter into the rooms and there is a 2 door entrance before entering into the main building. We also have a children’s hand rail and a buggy park. There is parking on-site right in front of the building making it easy to drop off and pick up.

All our children get the opportunity to go on local educational trips, and whether it be to the local shops or places of interest, we always risk assess our outings and ensure that ratios are adhered to.

We also invite the local businesses and the emergency services to come in and talk to the children about safety awareness and their community. We would love to welcome you and your little ones into the nursery, please contact us to register your interest and book a tour. We think you’ll like what you see!
